I was out with a friend last night and we started talking about what we were watching and what we reading and listening to. He talked about reading the late Edward Kennedy's book and the insight he received from reading it. "What have you read lately, Beth", he asks...at this point, do I tell him that over one week, I tirelessly read the entire "Twilight" series, the romantic vampire saga written predominantly for teens or do I keep my mouth shut? I chose to tell him, "with work, and raising a four year old, I just don't find a lot of time to read." Wouldn't you?

I had lunch with a co-worker the other day and he asked what I was watching this fall. He said "the Good Wife with Julianna Marguiles is such a smart show, reflecting a lot of what is happening today in politics and big business...how a pulic figure cheats on his wife and yet she sticks with him, but forgoes her career again...really smart show"...what are you watching, Beth?" "uh, um....I mainly watch the news to catch up on the days stories and then a lot of documentaries on A&E and Discovery"....this statement couldn't be farther from the truth since what I really watch is Grey's Anatomy, So you think You can Dance, Glee (which, if you are not watching this show, you must start) and Two and a Half Men.

So, tell me TVheaders, what are your guilty pleasures?..the thing that you love but really wouldn't want anyone to know about...After being questioned twice this week about something and not being able to admit to anything, I am having to let it all out here....My name is Beth, and I have a lot of guilty pleasures...here is a list...

Gossip rags

Miley Cyrus's new song Party in the U.S.A..I don't care what you say, you can dance to this song!

American Idol

Dark Chocolate with raspberry filling

Shoes...lots and lots of shoes

Doing the Electric Slide and Chicken Dance at weddings. I am the first one in the floor making a fool out of myself....

McDonald's French Fries

bi-weekly mani-pedi's

Thank you all for listening....this felt good.

I wouldn't readily confess any of the below, at least until the person got to know me better:

I love Red Foxx
I love American Football
I love Rockumentaries, no matter how awful the band/artist
I get a Signature hot chocolate from Starbucks once a week
Once a year I read a Stephen King book
I occasionally eat animals

otherwise

I denounce everything on television
I denounce all American sports
I denounce all popular music
I denounce Starbucks and their $12 hot chocolates
I denounce Stephen King and modern American literature
I denounce harming Todd's creatures

I don't eat a lot of fruits and veges although they are good for you
I do like a cookie or a brownie every once in a while
I love the feeling of accomplishment after working out
I'm not a big fan of rap and hip hop (unless it is Old Skool)
I do watch more sports than anyone in the world
I do think a professional looking woman is so damn sexy
I love Classic Rock

Great question!

I literally think I'm a "firm 105" while I'm working out. I can feel every muscle ripple in my stomach and legs. Laughing

Housewives of Anywhere

I Love New York

I've had great male friends, but am really stupid when it comes to love.

I love batter fried seafood and fries on occasion.

My emotions often get the better of my logic.

I have been overqualified for every job I've had except one.

I am a procrastinator of the highest order.

I like to gossip with my friends, but think that gossiping is the worst sin.

I forgot about that one. I suspect that I do better than most but my better is still pretty poor.

That's how I feel about salads, Mullin. There's nothing like a salad that someone else cuts up for you!

as for guilty pleasures, i never watch network sitcoms but after 10 years i watch several in reruns that i don't tell anyone about. "just shoot me", 3rd rock from the sun" for instance. read super market mags while standing in line and always say to the next person, "who in the world buys these rags, here you go ahead of me", that way i get to read more and get credit for being a gentleman. been know to eat a whole box of bon bons in an evening, am sure i will be adding to the list as the day progresses.,
